Have you kept tons of baby food jars stored away with the intention of doing a cool craft with them some day? Are you looking for a fun gift for your kids to make for others this Christmas? Well look no further! This craft is cheap, easy, and fun, not to mention a great way to recycle. What you need:
- baby food jars, washed with labels removed
- pipe cleaners (or string, or ribbon….whatever you want to tie around the top)
- hot cocoa packets (we just bought a box from Costco)
- a bag of mini marshmallows
- a bag of mini candy canes
- fabric of your choice cut into circles or squares to cover the tops of the jars
- tape or glue
- note card with instructions (optional)

These are so easy to do, even a toddler can participate!
- Just empty one packet of hot cocoa into the jar.
- Top with marshmallows until full.

- Eat a bunch of marshmallows while doing so.
- Cover the tops by glueing or taping the fabric circles/squares to the center.
- Put the lid on and attach candy cane by wrapping a ribbon or pipe cleaner around the lid.

- Add a note with instructions, if you like.
And voila! The easiest homemade Christmas craft. We have made it a tradition in our house to have our daughter make something to give to all of her friends and family every year. This was the first craft that she made and they were a big hit. It was a great way to start creating memories that will hopefully last a lifetime!

Great idea! How cute is that??? I’d have cocoa powder everywhere. Nice product shot, too.
seriously cute! and Rory is quite professional in everything she does!
Kya was with me when I was reading this, she said “I see Boo!”
Such a cute idea. I think these would be super cute for Kya to give out to her classmates and teachers and she can help make them!
This is such a great idea, I love it !
What an adorable craft/gift idea, I can’t wait to do this with my kidlets! I’m all about using recycled items for crafts, it’s amazing how many uses baby food jars have. My only suggestion for this craft would be to buy a large tin of hot cocoa, rather than individual packets- it’s a lot less expensive & creates less waste from packaging. Thank you so much for sharing.

What a cute idea and so easy to do! Love that “Boo” got involved and that it uses items which are easy to come by!
