Family friendly for profit businesses are welcome to share their sales, promotions, and other opportunities with our network by purchasing advertising.  We do not provide free advertising.  Posting your sale in our comments section, our facebook page, or tagging us in twitter is super rude and will get you flagged for spamming if you are not already part of our business network.

Family Friendly non profit businesses can contact us for reduced rates to advertise events/sales that have a cost.  We are happy to post (when time allows) family friendly non profit FREE EVENTS at no cost.

As you can see by pressing ‘refresh’ – our ads rotate among themselves – we will not provide a stationary ‘top placement’ ad.

Each business who purchases any ad is allowed one in blog post per month (business provides post and can include one photo).  Post must be family friendly and is subject to approval by San Diego Deals and Steals (we will work with you to make it appropriate for our readers). This post will be shared on our blog, in our daily e-newsletter, on our facebook group, as well as on twitter.  One post is allowed per month and it is the responsibility of the business to send us that post.  If you do not send us a post, your ad will of course stay visible but you will me the opportunity to share your post with our audience via our various outlets – make sure to take advantage!  If you miss one month, you miss – there is no ‘doubling up’ the following month. Post MUST be something relating to San Diego, a deal, a freebie, or something relevant to our audience.

Business provides this post – we can write this for you, but we do charge an additional fee for this service.  We do allow up to one post per week by advertisers for an additional fee as well.  We do not showcase more than one sponsored post per day, if you would like more information on this please contact us for a media kit.

Advertisers are also allowed (if they wish) to sponsor a giveaway (of an item/service/etc worth $50+) on SanDiegoDealsandSteals.com at no additional charge up to once every 3 months.  We do not share giveaways unless the business hosting or sponsoring also sponsors this site.  Giveaways do take quite a bit of time and they are an awesome bonus promotion for your business – please note we will now only be hosting giveaways worth a minimum of $50.  Shipping is the responsibility of the sponsor.  Item must be shipped to the winner within 2 weeks of winning.

*Logos must be sized appropriately before sending.  If you need your logo resized, our technical department can provide that for a one time fee of $45.  Resizing is not a logo design but only resizing of an existing logo.  If you are in need of logo design please check out Hamernik Art Studios.*

Sponsored Posts – We will occasionally accept sponsored posts.  If you have a family friendly business and would like to share a promotion or sale with our readers we are happy to consider sharing a sponsored post.  Sponsored posts are written by the business and may include a link to your site.  Post must be less than 300 words.  It will be shared on our blog, in our newsletter, on facebook, and twitter – ONCE.  Fee is $55 – you may include one properly sized photo for an additional $10 (a photo is recommended, but not at all necessary).  Please contact us if you are interested in sponsoring a post.

SD Daily Deal Page

Would you like to be listed on our SD Daily Deal Page? Please contact us for details!  We do not place widgets or sidebar advertising for Daily Deal sites that do not sponsor our page with standard advertising.  We are a hyper direct audience for daily deal sites in San Diego.  Please contact us if you would like your Daily Deal featured on our page with advertising.  Please know we are contacted almost daily with affiliate link ‘opportunities’ – we will only place ads from our advertiser who sponsor via sidebar advertising.  When a daily deal site chooses to sponsor our page we will also include an affiliate link.  We will also embed our affiliate link when the daily deal shares their monthly post.  We can share from dozens of sites, we can be choosy – this is what we came up with.

Business Reviews and Giveaways!

My family LOVES to participate in business, restaurant, and service reviews!  We love to share our personal experiences at local businesses. I will provide links back to your business website along with indexing on www.SanDiegoDealsandSteals.com.  Business reviews will be included in our daily e-newsletter and also shared with our facebook and twitter followers!

*We have recently had simply too many business review and giveaway opportunities for us to keep up with.  While they are a lot of fun, we do have to limit the amount we participate in.  We ask that businesses that ask us to provide a review will share that review with their networks as well.  Please also know that while we do not charge for the media blast you will get with the business review we do pay taxes and it does take quite a bit of time.  Review items worth less than $100 will not be considered.*

*If we choose to review a business or product there is no charge for the review.  However, hosting a giveaway takes up a huge amount of time and is a great media blast for the business sponsoring it.  With very little exception we will not host a giveaway unless it is part of a larger campaign.  Please feel free to contact us to discuss a campaign for your business.

*A restaurant review is very fun for our family and is great advertising for the restaurant.  Please know you are NOT giving us a ‘free meal’ – I can buy dinner – but if you would like us to try out your restaurant to share with our network we should talk!  A restaurant review will not include a giveaway.

*We are often approached by businesses wanting us to share their giveaway or promotion.  We will not share giveaways not on our blog unless that business is an advertiser of our blog.  Please feel free to contact us about advertising your business with our network.

*Please note Facebook has several rules about Facebook contests, failure to follow these rules can result in your business facebook page can be shut down.  Requiring people to ‘like’ a page is against the rules – I will no longer be adding this as a requirement or even a second entry for giveaways – I can of course include a facebook page link – but cannot make it a requirement for contests. *

I am happy to accept products via mail for product review. Sending me your product does not guarantee a review. As stated, we are offered many items/services to review.  We enjoy sharing a few reviews from time to time, but will only consider reviewing an item/service/etc with a value of $100 or more.  Also, please do NOT send me a product with the expectation of only a glowing review. While I try to always find something positive, my positive review cannot be purchased with a freebie. I will always be honest with my reviews. As readership grows and demand increases, so will our advertising prices.  Any business that renews ad space will continue to be charged the same prices as when their advertising began for a full year after their original sign up date.  After one full year of sponsorship, an ad can be renewed at an increase of no more than 10% regardless of the current charge for new sponsorship.  To continue at the same rate, payment must be up to date.  Once an advertising spot is purchased and logo & links have been put on our site by our technical department payment is no longer refundable for any amount.  A business can choose to have their ad removed at any time, but no refund (full or partial) will be made. 

Payment is do by or before the 25th of the month.  Invoices will be sent out one week in advance.  Lapse in payment will result in charging the current advertising rates should the company choose to renew.  At this point we have a wait list for most of our advertising spots.  Payment is due by or before the 25th or another business will likely take your spot.  Failure to communicate to us could result in us loosing business.

*Please note – advertising with us does NOT mean we will not discuss or allow advertising with a business you consider a competitor.  We showcase many businesses on San Diego Deals and Steals and we cannot exclusively showcase one type of business.*

*Special Note to Photographers*  if you are interested in being showcased in 2012 please email us!  Please note we have many offers to network with photographers and we simply do not need 20 photo sessions a year for our family.  In the past we have exchanged advertising for a photo sitting as well as access to our images. We will not advertise in exchange for a discount or for a sitting where  we will have to purchase prints.  Please do not tell us you will give us a ‘free’ photo session – I receive nothing for free, I promise I will work hard to share your business and I have worked hard to build the network I have, we are happy to share our honest review about your services, we will not pay for a photography session AND provide this service.  I am happy to discuss showcasing your photography business – please send us a link to your portfolio.  We will consider children’s birthday photos and one family session per year (preferably in Fall to showcase for holiday portraits).  My brother just got engaged, and I would not be above using this same format as a gift  *
