Beach Break Cafe in Oceanside

Posted on: June 23rd, 2015 by Kate Hamernik

Earlier this month our family enjoyed a mini staycation in Oceanside.  We are from North County so it was not much of a drive.  We feel so fortunate to live in North County San Diego – so many people come all over the world to vacation in Oceanside (and other cities in San Diego) and for us it is just up the street!  We stayed in an ocean view room at the very family friendly Springhill Suites by Marriott and we wanted to share our favorite family friendly restaurant that we visited!  We will also be sharing about our favorite date night pick too!

Beach Break Cafe opened in 1988 and quickly became an Oceanside landmark.  Beach Break is a family friendly restaurant with a casual atmosphere and some of the friendliest staff you will ever meet!  Families feel welcome and the menu really caters to everyone! We love to have breakfast at Beach Break Cafe!  They are open for breakfast, brunch, and lunch until 2pm.

Portions are very generous so make sure to come hungry!  This French Toast is THE BEST……

Kids can enjoy classics like “Mickey Mouse” Pancakes with a side of bacon or sausage.  There were yummy noises all around – even my son who typically needs a little more than a typical kid’s meal.  He said “This place is so good and my belly is full to here.” *little hand up to his neck*

Hot tip – they get BUSY on the weekend mornings – they offer serve your own coffee in the lobby (make sure to tell your waiter when you are seated) while you wait.  It is well worth the wait – but don’t get there too late – they are only open until 2pm.

Make sure to check out the surf and skate history all over  the restaurant – we actually spent quite some time in the lobby just checking it all out.

Thank you Beach Break Cafe!  We will see you real soon!Beach-Break-Cafe-Kids-Menu

Little Miss C (and all of us) gives it two big thumbs up!
