Big Fish by Moonlight Stage Productions
The Summer Season of Moonlight’s 35th anniversary is coming to a close. You have one more chance to enjoy live theater under the moonlight with Big Fish.
I remember the movie by Tim Burton but we had never seen the stage show.
Big Fish plays on select night NOW through September 26, 2016.
Tickets are a splurge starting at $24 each, but for live theater this is actually quite a steal! If you have never experienced theater under the stars, Moonlight Amphitheatre is the place to go! Located in Vista California the Moonlight is worth the drive even if you are not in North County. I highly suggest taking in a show before the season is over!
Description of Big Fish by Moonlight Stage Production’s site
“Based on the celebrated Daniel Wallace novel and the acclaimed Tim Burton film, Big Fish overflows with heart, humor and spectacular stagecraft. This extraordinary new musical reminds us why we go to the theatre, to have an experience that’s richer, funnier, and bigger than life itself. Edward Bloom lives life to the fullest – and then some – as he spins incredible, larger-than-life stories that thrills all who are around him. Yet his son, about to have a child of his own, is determined to find the truth behind his father’s epic tales. San Diego regional premiere!”
Big Fish is beautifully performed by the entire cast. Prepare yourself for tears, but good, happy, therapeutic tears. While I didn’t feel there was anything inappropriate for children in Big Fish, I think it is the only production we saw that wouldn’t have really held my kid’s attention. I believe the theme is appropriate for teens and up – it made the prefect date night for us!
Thank you to The Moonlight for having us!
