Del Mar Rendezvous ~ San Diego Restaurant Week Feature ~ GIVEAWAY!

by Kate  on: January 13th, 2013

Oh how we love San Diego Restaurant Week!  San Diego Restaurant Week is a special event where dozens of San Diego’s finest restaurants offer special menus at a great discount!  This has been a favorite date night for us since before San Diego Deals and Steals even existed!

This past weekend we were invited again to visit one of our very favorite SDRW participants – Del Mar Rendezvous located in lovely Del Mar, CA!  We LOVE this restaurant for so many reasons!  The entire staff is SO nice, the location is beautiful, the food is delicious, but they also do SO much extra for San Diego Restaurant Week!

Many restaurants offer a couple options for each course and that is it.  We personally do not have any dietary concerns, but I wanted to point out that DMR offers flexibility with several different menu options!  Del Mar Rendezvous offers an extensive gluten free menu, as well as a vegetarian and vegan menu!  There are multiple options for SDRW even if you have these restrictions – you will not need to beg for a recipe change or feel disappointed that there is only one item that fits your needs, there are multiple choice!

We sampled the BBQ Rib Slices as one of our appetizers (gluten free)…..

This was a new dish to both of us and it is special for SDRW.  My husband the meat eater joked that all he wanted was a big plate of that…. ;-)

Another dish we tried for the first time was also part of the SDRW special Menu – Salt and Pepper Lobster Tails.  I LOVED this!  The seasonings were perfect!  I don’t have lobster often (I mean, I am on a budget!) but I don’t personally like the buttery sauces that it is often served with.  The salt and pepper seasons were the perfect compliment and I didn’t feel like I was ruining my diet!  At this point we have tasted just about everything on the Del Mar Rendezvous menu – but this is my new favorite!

Lastly – I just have to share a picture of quite possibly the best dessert San Diego has to offer – this tasty treat is called Xiangjiao – which is Chinese for “Banana” – seriously so yummy!  del mar rendezvous

A couple quick things I just gotta point out!  Del Mar Rendezvous is also offering a 1/2 price wine by the bottle promotion as well as wine by the glass, beer, and sake discounts during SDRW! WHAT?!  Make sure to check out the awesome menu online and follow Del Mar Rendezvous on facebook for more details!  This is an elegant but fun restaurant!  It is located in the heart of Del Mar and perfect for a date night!  Del Mar Rendezvous is well worth the splurge but make sure to check out their promotions – it can be a very budget friendly choice – especially during SDRW!  Del Mar Rendezvous is also extending their SDRW menu for another week after!  How great are they?!

First off, thank you SO much to Del Mar Rendezvous Dan Schrieber for inviting us out again and for being so gracious!  Second of all – check out Del Mar Rendezvous Menu and enter in the comment section what is something you would like to try if you were to win dinner for TWO!

Del Mar Rendezvous has sponsored this giveaway!  Winner will be awarded a gift certificate for $76!  Perfect for a three course dinner during San Diego Restaurant Week! Best of luck to all!  Remember our giveaways are for San Diego Deals and Steals subscribers!
