San Diego Deals and Steals is a personal blog written and edited by me. The purpose of this blog is first and formost to help save readers money and help keep myself accountable to our tight personal budget. This blog is completely free for readers and subscribers.
At the same time, this blog is also my job. I feel there is nothing wrong with being paid for advertisement as long as my first priority is saving my readers money. In addition to the several hours each day I devote to writing this blog and networking with others to bring readers great deals, I have several hard costs – server space, techy ‘bells and whistles’, mailing supplies for giveaways, and more.
This blog accepts forms of cash advertising, sponsorship, paid insertions or other forms of compensation. I also insert affiliate links or referral codes in many posts. These affiliate and referral links never cost those who click on them any more than if they were to go to the site directly, I simply get a small ‘kick back’ (often times pennies) for spending the time to write about a specific deal and bringing it to my readers. Again, sharing the best deals are my priority – NOT making money – I will turn down (and have turned down) opportunities for paid posts that I feel are not appropriate for our audience.
That content, advertising space or post may not always be identified as paid or sponsored content.
The compensation received will never influence the content, topics or posts made in this blog.
We are occasionally compensated (in free samples, gift cards, products, and cash) to provide opinion on products, services, websites and various other topics. Even though I receive compensation for my posts or advertisements, I always give my honest opinion, findings, beliefs, or experiences on those topics or products. The views and opinions expressed on San Diego Deals and Steals are purely my own own. Any product claim, statistic, quote or other representation about a product or service should be verified with the manufacturer, provider or party in question.
