Liz Bolton Stables – Summer Horse Camp!

by Kate  on: May 14th, 2012

I will post something more lengthy soon!  But I wanted to share really quickly that Liz Bolton Stables in San Marcos has opened registration for Summer Horse Camp this year.  Last year they were almost completely sold out!

There are several sessions – they also offer half day camp!  My oldest two really enjoyed horse camp during spring break and we hope to join in Summer Camp too!  Anyway – if people are starting to plan out their Summer Camp Sessions already I wanted to point that out!

Enjoy~ Kate

Kidsfest San Diego ~ June 9th & 10th

by Kate  on: May 10th, 2012

As a working mom (I founded the San Diego Film Festival in 2002) my weekends were devoted to my daughter. I was constantly looking for family events that would be unique, creative and allow us to make memories together.

But they were hard to come by. Everywhere we went, someone was trying to sell us insurance.

So I set out to create an event that was different – designed just for kids to stretch their imaginations. Not an expo. Not a trade show. Not a street fair, or even a carnival. KidsFest San Diego  is kind of like your kids’ favorite play area, their favorite art class, their favorite music group, their favorite museum and your favorite childhood memories – all combined into one.

KidsFest features 100,000 square feet of interactive stations where kids can move, sing, create, paint, build, plant, and escape in pure play. A few of the activities included with admission:

  • The Messy Zone filled with mud pie kitchens
  • Make-and-take Creation Station presented by San Diego Family Magazine
  • Dance Party Stage & Dress Up Bar
  • Green Thumb Zone presented by Honest Tea
  • Build It Square with reading nooks and Fort Cube with Neighborhood Fort Cubes
  • Bubble Zone- endless fun for toddlers
  • Rock & Roll Drum Circle presented by Recreational Music Center
  • Chobani Champions Tour Bus  offering free Chobani Champion samples
  • Juggling Jamboree presented by Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus
  • Fabulous Food Truck Lunch Room

So, if you are looking for something a little different, the entire family can be a part of, I hope you will join us. KidsFest runs Saturday and Sunday, June 9-10, from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. at Liberty Station in Point Loma. Tickets are $18 (family four packs are $60) and can be purchased HERE

*This post has been brought to you by the good folks at Kidsfest San Diego!  We thank Kidsfest for sharing this sweet event with our readers and for sponsoring our blog!*
