The Music Man is the next in the awesome line up of Broadway shows at Moonlight Amphitheater.
My son and I enjoyed a mother son date night for opening night and it was magical. I love that we have so many high quality productions here in North County San Diego so we can introduce our kids early to live theater.
If you have not seen The Music Man yet and are wondering if it is a good show to bring the kiddies to – here is the synopsis from the Moonlight Stage Production’s site…
“Described as American as apple pie, The Music Man is family entertainment at its very best. The show follows fast-talking traveling salesman Harold Hill as he cons the people of River City into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys band that he will lead despite the fact that he doesn’t know the difference between a trombone and a treble clef! Before can skip town, his heart is stolen by the town librarian who transforms him into a respectable citizen.”
While I was familiar with The Music Man, it was the first time for my son and he really enjoyed it. He loved the message and identified with the kids as well as Harold Hill – he was so happy with the ending (no spoilers here though). 😉
David Engle and Aleesa Neeck are perfect at Harold Hill and Marian Paroo. They lead an all star cast that is sure to impress those new to the show as well as those who have loved it for years. This show is perfectly family friendly with only the tiniest bit of innuendo.
The Moonlight Amphitheatre has been bringing “Broadway Under the Stars” in Vista for 35 years now! Located at Brengle Terrace Park at 1200 Vale Terrace Drive, Vista CA 92084.
