Spring is coming, and it is a lovely time of year to enjoy living in North County. Check out the many great FREE and low-cost things to do in North County San Diego in March.



3/1-3/13 – CARLSBAD | FLOWER FIELDS AT CARLSBAD RANCH ($0 – $16 per person)

Relax and admire the vibrant Tecolote Ranunculus flowers that adorn the rolling hillsides of The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch. This year will feature new landscaping and renovations. Enjoy the display gardens developed by the San Diego Master Gardeners, explore the fragrant sweet pea flower maze, learn about composting and gardening and finally, enjoy a new picnic area where you may bring in your own food or enjoy the food available. The Flower fields features two free parking areas, accessibility for people with disabilities, and restroom facilities.


Admission $16 adults, $14 seniors 60+, $8 children 3–10, free for children under the age of 2. Season passes and group tours available.

Enjoy the grand opening of local winery tasting room at Twin Oaks Valley Winery. Local wine makers since 2013, they only source their grapes from San Diego County farmers.


Two-for-one tastings, games, and music: Saturday, 2-4 pm, reggae beats by E. Lamour and Mystik Duo; Sunday, 2-4 pm, R&B by James Ian.

The City of Encinitas annual Easter Egg Hunt with 20,000 eggs to be found. Two live shows from Hullabaloo on-stage at 10:30am and 11:15. Enjoy the day and picnic at Encinitas Community Park. Please note, there will not be any food or drink available for purchase at the event. Please bring your own basket or bag for eggs. Limited parking is available on-site at the park. Auxiliary parking is available at the Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas north parking lot, accessed off of Devonshire Drive.
