Fall is just around the corner and kids are back to school, but there are still a few weeks left of summer! Enjoy this list of budget friendly and free activities to do in San Diego during the month of September.

La Mesa

Oktoberfest

Enjoy live music, games, a German car show, arts, crafts, antique bazaar, carnival games & rides, children’s area and maypole dancing. Oh and beer, lots and lots of beer.

Barona Powwow

FREE

Sep.1st – Sep 3rd

This is the 47th annual Barona Powwow. The event is filled with competitive dancing in multiple categories.

Julian

Julian Apple Days Festival

Adults are $5 while children 12 and under are FREE

Sep. 23rd and the 24th from 10am-5pm

First 250 people through the gate, each day, receive a FREE pie server.

Fun way to kick off fall! The weekend is filled with music, dancing, antique tractors, games and activities, gold panning, a beer and wine garden, food vendors and contests. Best part of all, there will be apple pie!

La Jolla

La Jolla Coast Walk – FREE

If you haven’t been a tourist in your own city, now is a great time to do the La Jolla coast walk. It is about 1 ½ miles long. During your walk, you can visit the La Jolla Children’s Pool, shell beach, Scripps Park, La Jolla Bridge Club (provides excellent views), La Jolla Cove and view the sea caves.

The first 50 guests in costume receive a $10 gift card redeemable at all Seaport Village shops and restaurants

Pirate fun-filled day with live music by a pirate-themed band, “talk like a pirate” and costume contest, arts, crafts, mermaid grotto, street performances, and food and drink specials. You are welcome to wear your own costume!
